The Ondernemerschap
This June 27th, our Project of business development, created to support entrepreneurial newcomers in Amsterdam, will realize a Beauty Workshop. The initiative aims to give the opportunity to learn all about doing hair, makeup and skincare from experienced professionals and also get tips on setting up your own business within the beauty industry. All while enjoying a cup of coffee and some goodies.
The event will take part on June 27th, 11:00-13:00 at Ru Paré (Chris Lebeaustraat 4, 1062 DC Amsterdam).
Breath of Hope
One more team of ladies got their certificate for having completed our personal development course. The Women’s Group of April-June 2024 had its final day this Thursday (20). Six ladies were registered from different nationalities, such as Syrian, Eritrean, and Moroccan.
This 10-week course includes orientation about life in Amsterdam, Dutch classes, workshops, and emotional support.
We would like to thank the Stichting Home Empowerment (SHE) that supported this group, providing the place to hold the meetings with so much care. 🙏
Currently, Breath of Hope has three active groups in different parts of New West Amsterdam.
Bridge of Hope
Our building community program for Amsterdam-Noord held different activities this month. A fun Cook Workshop was open to the whole neighborhood. A day to discover Syrian cuisine, learn how to make 4 different Syrian dishes and explore the beautiful diversity of cultures. Around dinner time, all the participants invited friends and family to come and eat together. In the end, we got to be 43 people. What a Day!
The Jewelry Workshop was another event that brought together 10 women. It was a cozy time to get to know each other, exchange ideas, and sharpen creativity.
Koffie Uurtje (Coffee Time) will be the Bridge of Hope point of contact every other week. A place to relax and share. If you are in Noord, get in contact with Gabriela Pignato, and don’t miss the next!

Together Project
Our program for welcoming Ukrainians is entering in its third season in July with new activities and a stronger community.
This month of June, the exhibition “Shared Garden”, the final activity of Rootless, received visitors in Treehouse NDSM in Amsterdam-Noord from May 31st till June 9th to enjoy the multidisciplinary works of six Ukrainian artists in a profound reflection on displacement, togetherness, and resilience.
Get a full view of the exhibition here, and stay tuned! Soon, we will be sharing the new activities created for this new stage of the Together Project.
