Life’s transitions, especially those involving adapting to a new cultural environment, can often bring significant stress and emotional challenges. To address these concerns and offer practical tools for self-care, Breath of Hope, in collaboration with the ARQ team, hosted a transformative workshop this week at De Honingraat. This initiative was designed to empower women by helping them manage their emotions and navigate stress effectively.
Despite being a more complex topic, the participants were very participative, sharing their experiences and perspectives. The interactive session led by ARQ’s dedicated instructors, Therese Wong and Anouq Schuermans, offered participants insights into recognizing the signs of stress and building healthy coping mechanisms. The small but diverse group of nine people, representing four different nationalities, engaged in meaningful discussions and exercises that fostered self-awareness and personal growth.
In a supportive and nurturing environment, the participants learned valuable techniques to better care for their emotional well-being and enhance their ability to face daily challenges. One participant emphasised the need to hold discussions like this more often and in other environments.
Breath of Hope has long been dedicated to fostering personal growth and empowerment for women, offering them a safe space to reflect on their lives, build connections within the local community, and learn new skills. This workshop was a testament to that mission, reinforcing the importance of emotional resilience in achieving overall well-being.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Therese and Anouk from ARQ and to all participants for their involvement in this uplifting event. Together, we continue to create opportunities for women to thrive, grow, and connect in their journeys of self-discovery.
