“We started our organization with three refugee families. Looking back, we can see how the Road of Hope family has grown” – Patricia Barendredt is founder and director of Road of Hope. From 2016 to now, Road of Hope was able to consolidate four permanent programs: Visitation, Dutch classes, Labour market integration and the Breath of Hope project. In all of them, volunteer work is essential to well assist the refugee community. If you have time to give and the commitment to walk together with refugees on their path toward integration, we invite you to volunteer in one of the opportunities listed below:
- Dutch Language Teacher
We are currently looking for enthusiastic Dutch teachers who can support refugees (status holders) in small groups in learning the Dutch language. Know more.
- Group Leader
You will be trained to guide a small group of female status holders on their path to integration through emotional well-being and self-development. It is an important part of our Breath of Hope project. Know more.
- Breath of Hope Internship – emotional support project for women status holders
You will learn about mental health in the context of forced migration, about emotional support for refugees, gender, content development as well as empowerment and integration. Also, you will have the opportunity to follow the participants in all activities, plan interventions and cooperate with the project coordinator. Know more.
