Bazaar marks the closing of the fundraising campaign for Syria and Turkey

Friday 14th of April at Ru Paré, the BAZAAR, a charity event to support the Road of Hope donation campaign for the victims of the tragic earthquakes in Turkey and Syria on 6 February, was held. It was a day to share hope and extend a helping hand to those affected by the devastating earthquakes.

The Syrian community in Amsterdam, with the idea of raising funds for the campaign, initiated this project by offering exhibitors tables to sell their products during the BAZAAR. The money raised from the tables sold and the entrance tickets was donated to the fundraising campaign while many exhibitors were able to sell their products and make themselves known.

Overall, a great total of 881,66 euros was collected to donate to the families in Syria and Turkey through Molham Team, a well-known Syrian organization. The impact of this generosity cannot be overstated, as it brought a glimmer of hope to many who had lost everything. There was no better way to end the campaign.  Furthermore, the Bazaar provided an opportunity for ten talented women, who were also newcomers, to show their businesses. These amazing entrepreneurs had launched start-ups specializing in exquisite clothes, homemade accessories, decoration, and even makeup.

“Hand in hand, we build a new life” pictured the atmosphere of this beautiful event that held during the month of Ramadan. It was thus an occasion to celebrate Muslim culture, where visitors enjoyed delicious Arabic food for the iftar, the fast-breaking evening meal of Muslims.

In the end, the Bazaar was a beautiful and touching moment that brought communities together. It was a day to support the earthquake victims, but it was also a day to keep hope alive.
